Road Trip 4 Nature
2017-2019
Started in 2017, the project was dedicated to the American national parks, it was financed by the US Embassy in Bucharest and developed together with Propark Foundation. The aim of the project was to understand how these national parks are protected, what are the problems that the administrations are facing and how they manage to promote and manage these areas. All this information that we brought home was intended to help our protected areas and to inspire those who manage them to find ideas for best practices, useful tips for managing problems or simply a bit of know-how to add value to the fight for nature conservation in Romania.
We have spent about 40 days in the field, during two trips organised in the fall of 2017 and the spring of 2018 and no less than 11 American national parks were visited. On the first trip we focused on the Great Smoky Mountains, Congaree, Badlands, Grand Tetons and Yellowstone, and on the second tour we went to the Canyonlands, Arches, Bryce Canyon, Zion, Sequoia and Yosemite, as well as to many other protected areas. This foray resulted in our first feature length documentary film and a photography exhibition launched in 2019.
The full story of this project is featured in PhotoLife magazine 3/2017 and PhotoLife magazine 4/2018 (the articles are available only in Romanian language).
